Pratapgarh cop feeds hungry children, provides rations to alcoholic's neglected family

A woman from the Biharganj area of Pratapgarh, distressed by the relentless harassment from her alcoholic husband, approached the police seeking help. She told authorities that her husband regularly beats her after consuming alcohol. The situation had deteriorated to the point where he would sell household items to fund his drinking habit, leaving the family without sufficient food and pushing them into a severe crisis of basic sustenance.

Sub-Inspector Lakshmikant Singh responded to the woman's complaint and visited her home to assess the situation. What he witnessed left him stunned. The house had no rations whatsoever, and small children were going hungry. Moved by the plight of the children, SI Lakshmikant Singh took them along with him and first ensured they were fed a proper meal. He then arranged for rations to be provided to the family and also made available necessary clothing for them.

The police officer's humanitarian initiative brought immediate relief to the distressed family. Smiles returned to the faces of the children and the couple after the intervention. The woman had described how her husband's daily drinking and violence had created an impossible living situation, with him selling even basic household goods to purchase alcohol.
