Police officer dies on guard duty in Hamirpur, investigation underway

The police personnel was found lying in an unconscious state while he was posted on duty. Colleagues who discovered him immediately arranged for medical assistance and rushed him to a hospital for emergency treatment.

Upon examination at the hospital, doctors declared the police officer dead. The exact cause of death is yet to be confirmed, though preliminary suspicion points towards a possible heart attack as the reason behind the sudden demise of the officer.

Following standard protocol in cases of sudden and suspicious deaths, police authorities have sent the body for post-mortem examination to ascertain the precise cause of death and rule out any foul play.

Superintendent of Police Mrigank Shekhar Pathak personally visited the Rath police station and paid his respects to the deceased police officer, offering tributes to the fallen colleague.

The deceased officer, holding the rank of Head Constable, had been assigned security duty to protect a victim's family in Chilli village of the police station area. His deployment came in the aftermath of a murder case that had taken place earlier in the village, making the security arrangement necessary for the affected family's safety.

The entire matter pertains to the Rath Kotwali area of Hamirpur district, where police are now investigating the circumstances surrounding the officer's death.
