Police officer conducts traffic and cyber safety awareness at Banda school

Additional Superintendent of Police Shivraaj today conducted a comprehensive awareness program on traffic regulations and cyber crimes for students at DR Public School located in the city area of Banda. The session aimed at educating young students about road safety norms and protecting themselves from the growing menace of cyber frauds.

During the program, Additional Superintendent of Police Shivraaj sensitised the students about various traffic rules and emphasized essential precautions to prevent road accidents. He stressed the mandatory use of helmets while riding two-wheelers, strictly avoiding driving under the influence of intoxication, not seating three riders on a motorcycle, refraining from driving vehicles at over speed, and using seat belts while driving four-wheelers. The officer provided detailed information on these critical safety measures to ensure the students understand the importance of responsible road behaviour.

The Additional Superintendent of Police also motivated the students to spread awareness about traffic safety among their family members, relatives and people living in their neighbourhood. He encouraged them to become ambassadors of road safety in their communities.

Providing information about compliance with traffic regulations, the officer made the students aware about not allowing minor children to drive vehicles, not driving vehicles without number plates or with incorrect number plates, and following traffic signals diligently. He emphasised that adherence to these rules is crucial for everyone's safety on the roads.

The session then focused extensively on cyber crime awareness and the precautions that need to be taken to avoid falling victim to online frauds. Additional Superintendent of Police Shivraaj informed the students about not sharing OTP with any person, not receiving unknown video calls, being aware of the possibility of fraud in lottery or prize-related calls and messages, not revealing UPI pin to any unknown person, and never installing screen sharing apps such as AnyDesk, Quick Support, TeamViewer, Screen Mirror and others on their phones at the behest of any unknown person. He provided detailed information about frauds happening on social networking sites.

The officer informed the students about the cyber helpline number 1930 for immediate protection from cyber crime and registering complaints. He also provided information about the website www.cybercrime.gov.in provided by the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, for registering online complaints in case of cyber fraud.

Students were made aware of all types of cyber crimes and methods to protect themselves from them. They were told to use any social media platform safely and cautiously, not to fall into anyone's trap and never share their photos and confidential information with any unknown person. The officer instructed them to immediately lodge a complaint on cyber crime helpline 1930 or at the nearest police station in case of any kind of cyber crime.

During the program, Additional Superintendent of Police Banda answered various questions raised by the students and resolved their queries. He also provided necessary guidelines and guidance regarding their careers, sharing valuable insights for their future professional development.

At the end of the program, a poster competition was organised. Students who gave excellent performance in the competition were rewarded and their enthusiasm was encouraged. The initiative reflects the police department's commitment to building awareness among young students about both traffic safety and cyber security, equipping them with knowledge to navigate modern challenges responsibly.
