Police constable rescues woman from fast-flowing canal in Malhipur

A police constable saved the life of a woman who jumped into a canal in Malhipur area on Sunday evening, displaying exceptional courage and quick thinking in the line of duty.

The incident occurred around 5:05 pm on August 31, 2026, at the bridge over Rapti Feeder Canal Section-6, where water was flowing at high speed at a depth of over 15 feet. An unidentified woman, believed to be around 28 years old, suddenly jumped into the canal. Head Constable Kailash Yadav of Malhipur police station, who was present at the spot, immediately sprang into action without any hesitation and leaped into the fast-flowing water to rescue the woman.
