NSUI workers staged a protest at the Pipliani crossing in Bhopal during Dussehra, raising allegations of “vote theft” and questioning the fairness of the electoral process. The protesters demanded an impartial investigation into complaints related to the voter list and called for greater transparency in the election system.

The demonstration was led by NSUI district president Akshay Tomar. During the protest, the workers burned an effigy of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar to register their opposition. The protest took place at the Pipliani crossing, where the workers raised their demands concerning the voter list and the conduct of elections.

The NSUI workers said that public trust in the electoral process must remain intact for democracy to stay strong. They said that whenever there is a possibility of any irregularity in the addition or removal of names from the voter list, or in the voting process, the matter should be investigated fairly.

“Every eligible voter’s name should be on the list,” the organisation said in its demand.

NSUI district president Akshay Tomar said that a voter’s ballot is their biggest strength in a democracy. He said that if questions are raised about the voter list or the voting process, it is the responsibility of the Election Commission to conduct an impartial investigation into the complaints and clarify the situation.

Tomar also said that the name of every eligible voter should be included in the voter list. He stressed that transparency must be ensured in the election system.

NSUI demanded that complaints related to the voter list should be properly addressed. The organisation said this was necessary so that no eligible voter faces the possibility of being deprived of their right to vote.

The organisation further said that transparency and fairness in the electoral process are essential for maintaining public confidence in democracy. Through the protest and the burning of the effigy, NSUI workers sought to highlight their concerns over the voter list, the alleged irregularities and the need for a fair examination of all related complaints.
