Muzaffarnagar Police Bust Illegal Arms Factory, Arrest Seven

Shahpur police in Muzaffarnagar district have busted an illegal arms manufacturing factory during a raid behind a dairy near the Tavli Rajwahe village area. Police said seven accused were arrested from the spot, and a large cache of illegal weapons, cartridges, arms-making equipment and a motorcycle was recovered.

According to police, the action began after information was received on the evening of 23 September during checking in the Harsauli police outpost area. The input was that some people were manufacturing illegal weapons near Tavli Rajwahe. Acting on the information, the police team surrounded the spot and arrested seven accused.

Police said the recovery included 12 ready-made and 4 semi-finished illegal weapons. Along with these, cartridges, weapon-making tools and one motorcycle were also seized from the spot.

During questioning, it came out that the accused were allegedly working together to make illegal country-made pistols, cartridges and empty shells, and were selling them in nearby areas. Police said further details emerged after the arrests and recovery.

The seized items included 315 bore and 12 bore country-made pistols, double barrel country-made pistols, a musket, a gun, semi-finished weapons, 60 live cartridges, 26 empty shells, weapon parts and manufacturing material.

The arrested accused include residents of Shamli, Meerut and Muzaffarnagar districts. Police said a case has been registered and further legal action has been started.

Senior Superintendent of Police Sanjay Kumar Verma honoured the Shahpur police team that carried out the operation with a reward of 20 thousand rupees.
