MP Mineral Department Seizes Four Dumpers Over Alleged Illegal Stone Transport

The Mineral Department carried out a raid and seized four dumpers allegedly involved in the illegal transportation of crushed stone in the Mehra Toll police station area of Madhya Pradesh. The action took place while Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav was present in the city. Dr. Mohan Yadav also holds responsibility for the Mineral Department.

Following the seizure, all four vehicles were parked in the custody of the respective police stations. The action by the Mineral Department has now become a topic of discussion, with questions being raised over why similar action is not taken every day against illegal mining and transportation.

The timing of the operation has also led to another question: was the department waiting only for the presence of the minister?

District Mineral Officer Pankajdhwaj Mishra said that, as per the rules, a penalty is proposed to be imposed against the vehicles. He also said that action under the Mineral Act has been proposed.

The operation has raised broader questions about the department’s monitoring in the area. If illegal transportation of minerals was taking place, questions are being asked about how active the department’s supervision had been earlier.

The fact that the action was carried out during the Chief Minister’s presence has also brought the department’s regular monitoring and accountability under scrutiny.
