MP Congress Plans Marches, Rallies Over Alleged Voter List Irregularities

In MP, Congress is preparing to intensify its ‘वोट बचाओ-देश बचाओ’ campaign over alleged irregularities in the voter list and allegations of ‘वोट चोरी’. Under the campaign, the party will organise public outreach programmes, marches, bike rallies and village-level चौपाल meetings across the state.

The party is also discussing a protest over the electoral issue on Dussehra. Instead of Ravana, the focus of the planned protest could be on an effigy of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.

A programme has been finalised to take out marches at the block level by 20 October and burn the effigy of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. The protest is part of the Congress campaign over the alleged problems in the voter lists.

From 25 October to 25 November, the ‘वोट बचाओ-देश बचाओ चौपाल’ campaign will be held across villages. During this campaign, booth-level agents will verify the voter lists and collect documents linked to the alleged irregularities.

As part of the campaign, a national rally of the INDIA alliance has also been proposed at Delhi’s Ramlila Maidan on 1 November. Congress is preparing these programmes as part of its planned movement over the allegations related to the voter list.
