Mayawati accuses expelled party members of spreading false health rumors to create confusion

Bahujan Samaj Party supremo Mayawati held a press conference in Lucknow and accused persons expelled from the party of spreading false rumors about her health to create confusion in society.

Mayawati directly put Akash Anand in the dock. She said Akash Anand called Alok Kumar, the personal secretary posted at her residence, and asked whether Bahenji was ill. Alok Kumar replied that Bahenji is absolutely fine and is carrying out her work. Akash Anand then told him not to inform Bahenji that he had called.

Mayawati said the intention behind this could be right or it could be wrong. She alleged that even today Akash Anand is working at the behest of his father-in-law.

At the beginning of the press conference, Mayawati also spoke on the BRICS summit, India-China friendship and Palestine.

The BSP chief's remarks come amid speculation about her health, which she categorically dismissed. By revealing the details of the telephone conversation between Akash Anand and her personal secretary Alok Kumar, Mayawati sought to expose what she described as efforts by former party members to spread misinformation. She questioned Akash Anand's motives in making the inquiry while asking that she not be told about his call.
