Man drowns in Lon river while fishing in Raebareli district

A man drowned in the Lon river while fishing near Purwa village in Nokheray, under the Lalganj police station area of Raebareli district. The incident led to a crowd of villagers gathering at the spot. Local residents informed the police, who arrived at the scene, retrieved the body and sent it for post-mortem examination.

The youth is reported to be a resident of Dostpur village, which also falls under the Lalganj police station jurisdiction. Inspector-in-charge Pramod Kumar Singh said that information about the case has been received and a police team has been dispatched to investigate the entire matter. The victim had gone to the river to catch fish when the tragedy occurred.
