Man deliberately puts thumb in snake's mouth for viral video, gets bitten

A young man in Auraiya district narrowly escaped serious harm after deliberately putting his thumb inside a live snake's mouth while filming content for social media. The incident, which took place in the Achhalda police station area on Friday evening, has sparked fresh concerns about the dangerous lengths people will go to for online fame.

Rishi Porwal, a resident of Sarai Bazaar in Achhalda who runs a shop selling religious items near the Achhalda railway crossing, was at his store around 5 pm when someone shouted that a snake had appeared behind the shop. Without hesitation, Rishi rushed to the spot, grabbed the snake with his bare hands, and asked a friend to start recording. In a reckless bid to create viral content, he thrust his thumb directly into the snake's mouth.

The snake bit him three times in quick succession as he struggled to free his thumb, causing blood to flow continuously from his hand. Rishi then threw the snake into nearby bushes and later uploaded the video to social media with music. When villagers questioned him about the shocking incident, he casually explained that he had caught the snake "just for fun" to make a video for social media platforms.

Fortunately for Rishi, the snake turned out to be non-venomous, which saved his life despite the multiple bites. The images and videos from the incident are currently going viral across social media platforms. The episode highlights a troubling trend where individuals, particularly youth, are willing to risk their safety and even their lives in pursuit of social media popularity and viral content, often without considering the potentially fatal consequences of their actions.
