Indore, 19 October 2026: The Madhya Pradesh government said it remains committed to the overall development and social security of every citizen under the welfare-oriented leadership of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav. The government said that having a strong and permanent home is not merely a physical necessity, but also a foundation for self-respect, security and stability in a person’s life.

Under the guidance of Chief Minister Dr. Yadav, the state government has implemented the ‘Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana’ and provided permanent homes to more than 10 lakh needy families so far. According to the government, this has brought unprecedented happiness and given a new direction to the lives of these families.

On the auspicious occasion of Vijayadashami, also known as Dussehra, ‘Griha Pravesh Diwas’ will be observed in all urban local bodies of Madhya Pradesh on 20 October 2026. Under this initiative, beneficiaries whose homes have been completed and sanctioned under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) will enter their newly constructed and fully furnished houses with their families.

The families will perform the house-entry ceremony according to Vedic traditions. The government described the Vijayadashami celebration as a happy occasion that will bring new joy into the lives of thousands of families across the state.
