Local delegation pushes for major train stoppages at Pphund railway station

A delegation from the Pphund Railway Station Sangharsh Samiti met with the Deputy General Manager of Prayagraj Division to press for stoppages of major trains at Pphund railway station and comprehensive regional development initiatives. The meeting saw detailed discussions on critical issues affecting railway connectivity and passenger amenities in the Dibiyapur, Auraiya region.

Shri Shyam Kumar Singh, President of the Pphund Railway Station Sangharsh Samiti, Dibiyapur, Auraiya, and Shri Dheeraj Kumar Shukla, General Secretary, called on Shri Atul Mishra, the respected Deputy General Manager of Prayagraj Division, for a courtesy meeting that evolved into substantive talks on regional development and important railway-related matters.

Shri Ram Kumar Gupta, a respected member of the committee, was also present during this important meeting and witnessed the significant discussions concerning regional development, stoppages of major trains, and passenger facilities.

On the occasion, the committee presented Shri Atul Mishra with a copy of the Srimad Bhagavad Gita along with best wishes for his bright future, and submitted a memorandum outlining the principal demands of the region.

The committee prominently raised the demand for stoppages of the following major trains at Pphund railway station during the meeting. The Shatabdi Express (12033/12034), which operates between Kanpur and New Delhi, was the first train for which a stoppage was sought. The committee also demanded a halt for Jammu Mail (20433/20434), the Subedarganj, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra Express. The third train for which a stoppage was requested was the Link Express (14113/14114), the Subedarganj, Dehradun Link Express.

The committee prominently highlighted the facilities that would become available to passengers in the region through the stoppages of these trains, as well as aspects connected to the social, industrial, and economic development of the Dibiyapur, Auraiya area.

The meeting also included special discussions on the subject of stoppages and operation of special trains at Pphund station. In view of the increasing passenger requirements in the region, the committee demanded that Pphund station be accorded appropriate importance with regard to special trains.

The committee placed special emphasis on the demand that Pphund railway station be developed as the principal and main railway station of Auraiya district, which is the only such station in the district. The committee stated that in view of the regional utility of Pphund station, growing passenger traffic, industrial activities, and the dependence of the large surrounding area, necessary steps should be taken in the direction of developing it as the district's principal railway hub.

Detailed discussions were also held during the meeting on data related to the annual passenger revenue of Pphund railway station and increasing passenger traffic. The committee emphasized the need for expansion of passenger facilities keeping in mind the growing utility and regional importance of the station.

The committee placed before the railway administration the matter of proper development of the station and expansion of facilities, taking into account the annual revenue of Pphund station, increasing passenger pressure, and the transport-related needs of the region.

In addition, extensive discussions took place on subjects related to the development of Pphund railway station under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, modernization, improvement in passenger facilities, and providing the station with a better form. The committee drew the attention of the officer toward adequate platform sheds at the station, necessary facilities for passengers, better traffic arrangements, and other essential development works.

The committee's position was that Pphund railway station is an important transport center for the region. Therefore, its development and expansion of passenger facilities can bring extensive benefits to citizens of the surrounding rural and urban areas.

The Sangharsh Samiti effectively placed before the officer the sentiments of the people of the region and demands connected to public interest. The committee hopes that necessary consideration and action will be taken by the railway administration on these important demands as per rules.

The discussions on the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme were particularly detailed, with the committee presenting specific proposals for infrastructural upgrades, enhanced amenities, and aesthetic improvements that would transform Pphund into a model station befitting its status as the district's primary railway facility.

The committee underscored that the growing economic activity in the region, coupled with increasing passenger numbers and revenue generation, makes a strong case for prioritizing Pphund station's development in the division's planning and resource allocation.
