Lekhpals protest alleged trap operation against fellow officer in Ayodhya

Lekhpals staged a vigorous protest in Fatehpur on Saturday, gathering at the Sadar Tehsil premises to express their anger over a recent anti-corruption action. The demonstration was triggered by an alleged trap operation conducted by the Anti-Corruption and Vigilance teams against a fellow lekhpal in Ayodhya, which the protesting officials termed as wrongful and malicious.

The agitating lekhpals accused the anti-corruption authorities of conducting the trap operation in a fabricated and vindictive manner. They demanded an immediate halt to what they described as fake and malicious trap operations being carried out against revenue officials across the state. The protesters maintained that the action taken against their colleague in Ayodhya was unjust and lacked proper grounds.

During the protest at the Sadar Tehsil complex, the lekhpals submitted a memorandum addressed to the Chief Minister, seeking appropriate action in the matter. They emphasized that no employee should face wrongful action without a fair and impartial investigation being conducted first. The memorandum called for justice in the Ayodhya case and systemic reforms to prevent similar incidents in the future.

The lekhpals expressed their outrage over the Ayodhya incident and vowed to continue their agitation until their demands are met. They insisted that the integrity of revenue officials must be protected and that anti-corruption measures should not be misused to target individuals without proper evidence. The protest highlighted growing concerns among lower-level revenue officials about what they perceive as arbitrary enforcement actions.

The demonstration in Fatehpur reflects broader tensions between revenue department employees and anti-corruption agencies.
