Municipal Chairperson Lata Varshney inaugurated two road construction works in Ward-17 of Chandausi. The interlocking roads built in the Hathi Khana area and in the lane near Bada Mahadev Temple have now been opened for the general public.
During the inauguration ceremony, Lata Varshney cut the ribbon to formally open the roads. Local residents welcomed the Municipal Chairperson by garlanding her and presenting flowers. Hundreds of residents from the ward were present at the programme and expressed their gratitude for the completion of the works.
Lata Varshney said the road in Ward-17 had been in a dilapidated condition for a long time. Because of this, people were facing considerable difficulty while travelling through the area. She said the construction of the interlocking road would provide major relief to schoolchildren, elderly people and traders.
The Executive Officer of the Nagar Palika said interlocking tiles had been laid across approximately 350 metres in the two lanes. The total cost of the work was approximately 18.50 lakh rupees.
According to local residents, the lane would become completely muddy during the rainy season. They said the newly built road would make it easier for devotees visiting the temple as well as for shopkeepers in the area.

The work in the Hathi Khana lane covered 180 metres. Another 170 metres of road construction was completed in the lane near Bada Mahadev Temple.
The programme was attended by the councillor’s representative, the sanitation inspector and employees of the Nagar Palika. The local people thanked the Municipal Chairperson and the Nagar Palika for completing both interlocking road projects in Ward-17.
