As soon as information about the breach was received, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath took cognizance of the situation. The Chief Minister sought details of the entire sequence of events from the Gorakhpur Commissioner, the ADG and the Kushinagar DM.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath directed officials to immediately move the affected villagers to safe locations. Acting on his instructions, the administration, police and disaster management teams started relief and rescue work.
