The India Bioenergy and Tech Expo-2026, held at the India Expo Mart in Gautam Buddha Nagar, showcased promising opportunities in green energy, rural employment, and farmer empowerment. On the second day of the event, Uttar Pradesh’s Urban Development and Energy Minister A.K. Sharma, Agriculture Minister Surya Pratap Shahi, and Energy State Minister Kailash Rajput participated alongside delegates, industry experts, and entrepreneurs from across India and abroad.

Addressing the gathering, Minister A.K. Sharma emphasized the transformative potential of the compressed biogas (CBG) industry. "CBG can turn waste into wealth, increasing farmers' income and creating employment opportunities in villages," he said. Highlighting Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s focus on green energy, Sharma criticized previous governments for neglecting farmers and lauded Modi’s initiatives like the Soil Health Card and efforts to strengthen agriculture. He assured entrepreneurs of the state government’s full support for investments in bioenergy.

Agriculture Minister Surya Pratap Shahi pointed out Uttar Pradesh’s position as the largest grain-producing state in India, generating significant agricultural waste. He stressed the importance of converting this waste into energy, calling it a golden opportunity to secure farmers’ futures. "With innovation, we can transform agricultural waste into energy, making farmers economically stronger," Shahi said, pledging full cooperation to entrepreneurs working in the green energy sector.

Energy State Minister Kailash Rajput and Gau Seva Commission Chairman Shyam Bihari Gupta also advocated for promoting animal husbandry alongside agriculture. They highlighted the need for installing one lakh small biogas plants at the domestic level across Uttar Pradesh.

A major highlight of the event was the signing of a ₹1,000 crore Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with KIS and Paras Group. Additionally, research journals and agricultural literature were unveiled. The expo provided a platform for discussions on bioenergy, CBG, agricultural waste utilization, rural employment, and green energy solutions, reinforcing Uttar Pradesh’s ambition to become a hub for clean energy under Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s leadership.
