Hundreds of Kanpur Dehat lawyers claim rape case is fake, demand impartial probe

Hundreds of lawyers reached the Superintendent of Police’s office at the Mati headquarters in Kanpur Dehat in connection with a rape case involving a student. The lawyers described the case as fake and demanded an impartial investigation into the allegations and the case registered afterward.

A delegation of lawyers met the SP under the leadership of Bipin Chandra Dixit, president of the Akbarpur Advocates Committee, and senior advocate Durgesh Yadav. They raised questions over the entire case and strongly demanded that the matter be investigated fairly, transparently and in depth.

The case is based on allegations made by the student. She has alleged that she was made to sit in a car on the pretext of being given a lift. According to her allegation, a narcotic substance was mixed in a cold drink and she was raped inside the car.

The student has also alleged that the accused made an obscene video, threatened to make it viral and threatened to kill her. According to the student, the incident took place on the 3rd. She has said that despite her family members refusing, the case was registered only after she reached the SP’s office.

The allegations have led to opposing claims from the student’s family and the lawyers. The family members have alleged that the village head brought the student under his influence and got action initiated in the matter.

On the other hand, the lawyers have claimed that the case is completely fake. After meeting the SP, they demanded a detailed and transparent investigation so that every aspect of the matter could be examined fairly. They have also described the case as suspicious and fake and demanded that the truth be clearly established.

Police are investigating all aspects of the matter. Police officials have assured the lawyers that the case will be examined through an impartial and detailed investigation.

The lawyers again met the Superintendent of Police under the leadership of Akbarpur Advocates Committee president Vipin Chand Dixit and advocate Durgesh Yadav. During the meeting, they repeated their demand for a fair probe into the case and opposed the allegations made in the complaint.

The matter concerns serious allegations by the student as well as the lawyers’ claim that the case is fabricated. The final facts will depend on the investigation being conducted by the police.
