Heavy Rain Cripples Life In Shravasti's Jamunaha, Sparks Flood Fears

Heavy rain over the past few days has thrown normal life completely out of gear in the Jamunaha area of Shravasti, with waterlogging blocking roads, markets wearing a deserted look and riverside villages fearing the threat of floods.

According to the situation described from the area, continuous heavy rainfall has badly affected the main intersections, crossings and markets of the Yamuna area. Places that usually see movement of people are now largely empty. Water has accumulated on roads to such an extent that stepping out of homes has become difficult for residents.

The impact of this natural calamity has been the harshest on daily wage labourers, who depend on day-to-day work for their livelihood. Because of the rain, work has come to a complete halt. This has created a major crisis for labourers who now face difficulty in feeding their families and managing household expenses.

People who need to go to offices are also struggling. Due to waterlogging and the non-availability of transport and other means of movement, many are unable to reach their destinations. The disruption in movement has added to the problems already caused by the continuing rain.

The main markets and key crossings of the area are also witnessing silence. Shopkeepers are forced to open their shops, but customers are missing. People are staying inside their homes because of the fear of waterlogging. As a result, business activity in the area has come to a complete standstill.
