Hathras Villager Dies After Lightning Strike At Shiva Temple

A 40-year-old villager died while undergoing treatment after being struck by lightning at a Shiva temple in Jatoi village in the Mursan area of Hathras. The incident took place on Monday morning, when Mahesh Chandra Dixit had reached the temple to offer prayers. The lightning strike also damaged the temple bell and other items on the premises.

According to the information received, Mahesh Chandra Dixit, a resident of Jatoi village and the son of Beniram, left his home at around 9 am to visit the Shiva temple. The temple was located about 100 metres from his house. He was offering prayers when lightning suddenly struck the temple premises.

Mahesh Chandra was seriously injured in the incident. The sudden lightning strike created panic in the temple premises, and people were left in confusion as the accident happened. After receiving information about the incident, family members and villagers reached the spot.

The injured villager was immediately taken to a hospital for treatment. He was given initial treatment there. However, considering the seriousness of his condition, doctors referred him to Mathura. His family then took him to a hospital in Mathura for further treatment.

Mahesh Chandra died during treatment at the Mathura hospital. His death caused grief among his family members and villagers.

As soon as the news of his death reached Jatoi village, cries and mourning broke out in the family. His relatives were said to be in a deeply distressed condition and were crying continuously. The death of the villager, who had gone to the temple to offer prayers, left the entire village in mourning.

The lightning strike also caused damage to the bell of the Shiva temple and other items. The incident has left the family devastated, while an atmosphere of grief has spread across the village following Mahesh Chandra’s death.
