A farmer died after coming under the rotavator attached to a tractor while ploughing a field in Nagla Mohanlal village under the Kotwali Sadabad police station area of Hathras. The incident took place on Saturday. The farmer’s son has alleged that his father may have been murdered over an ongoing land dispute within the family. Police have started investigating the incident and have sent the body for post-mortem.

According to the information received, Mahilpal, son of Hari Singh, (50), a resident of Nagla Mohanlal village, left home on a tractor on Saturday morning to plough the field. When he did not return even after a considerable amount of time, family members began looking for him and reached the field.

The family members were shocked when they saw the scene there. Mahilpal was found trapped beneath the tractor’s rotavator. Following the incident, cries for help and panic spread at the spot.

As soon as the police were informed, the Sadabad police reached the location. After information about the farmer’s death spread, a large number of villagers gathered at the scene.

The police had the body removed from beneath the rotavator and took it into custody. The body was then sent for post-mortem examination.

The deceased farmer’s son alleged that a land dispute was continuing within the family. He expressed suspicion that his father could have been killed because of this dispute.
