Hathras District Magistrate Satya Prakash Patel carried out a surprise inspection of the District Sports Stadium at around 8:30 am on Wednesday and directed officials to improve the sports facilities available for players.

During the visit, the District Magistrate reviewed the sports facilities, training arrangements and ongoing construction works inside the stadium premises. He instructed the officials concerned to ensure better facilities for players and to strengthen the arrangements needed for regular training.

The District Magistrate closely inspected different sports grounds in the stadium, along with the gym, badminton courts, shooting range and the facilities currently under construction. The District Sports Officer informed him that, apart from the sports officer, three trainers are posted at the stadium. These trainers are providing coaching to players in athletics, judo, weightlifting and football.

Officials also informed the District Magistrate that a gym and three badminton courts are operational in the stadium. The inspection covered both the existing facilities and the works that are still in progress, with a focus on making the stadium more useful for players preparing for sports and recruitment-related physical tests.

Satya Prakash Patel directed that the cricket net practice pitch be prepared and made operational at the earliest so that players can get the facility for regular practice. He also instructed officials to level the ground by adding soil wherever required and to carry out grass cutting on the field.

The District Magistrate further directed that proper soil arrangements be made at the places marked for high jump and long jump. He said players should get better practice facilities at these points so that they can train in a more systematic manner.

After this, the District Magistrate sought information on the progress of the volleyball, lawn tennis and basketball courts that are under construction. He also inspected the under-construction multipurpose hall and instructed the officials concerned to complete the work within the fixed time while maintaining quality.

While inspecting the shooting range, the District Magistrate said it should be made operational soon after the required equipment is received. The instruction was given so that the shooting facility can also be brought into use for players without unnecessary delay.

During the inspection, Satya Prakash Patel also interacted with the players who were practising at the stadium. He asked them about their preparations. The players told him that they were preparing for Army and police recruitment.

The District Magistrate encouraged the players and motivated them to practise regularly. He also asked them to take part in different competitions and display their talent through participation.

Satya Prakash Patel said that providing better training and necessary facilities to the youth of the district for moving ahead in sports is a priority. He directed officials to organise competitions in different sports disciplines and to encourage as many players as possible to participate in them.

Chief Development Officer P.N. Dixit, Additional District Magistrate (Finance and Revenue) Prashant Tiwari, Additional District Magistrate (Judicial) Prakash Chandra, the District Sports Officer, the Executive Officer of Nagar Palika Hathras and Mursan, and other concerned officials were present during the inspection.
