Hamirpur court sentences three to 20 years in minor's gang rape case
A court in Hamirpur has delivered a major verdict in a case involving the kidnapping and gang rape of a minor.
A court in Hamirpur has delivered a major verdict in a case involving the kidnapping and gang rape of a minor.
In the case, one accused, along with two juvenile offenders, has been sentenced to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment each. The court has also imposed a total fine of Rs 45,000 on the three.
Accused Shanu has been sentenced to 3 years of rigorous imprisonment. A fine of Rs 3,000 has also been imposed on Shanu.
The kidnapping and rape case was registered at Maudaha police station in 2016.
The verdict was delivered by the Special POCSO Court in Hamirpur after effective prosecution. Police said the effective prosecution was carried out under Operation Conviction.
