A 15-year-old Class 10 student from Gwalior, who had gone missing after leaving for coaching from Utila, was safely recovered from Krishna Nagar in Indore after a 14-day search, police said. Indore resident Arun Ramesh has been arrested in connection with the case.

The student had left home for coaching on 30 September but did not return. Following a complaint from her family, police registered an FIR for kidnapping and began searching for her.

The investigation initially faced difficulties as the student’s mobile phone was switched off and no clues were found through social media. Police then started examining CCTV footage from different locations to trace her movements.

The police team, led by SDOP Behat Manish Yadav and Utila police station in-charge Narendra Singh Sisodia, spotted the student travelling with a young man in CCTV footage from Gwalior railway station.

According to the investigation, the two reached Bhopal and then travelled to Indore by bus. Police connected footage from more than 125 CCTV cameras and prepared a route map covering a journey of over 500 kilometres.

Based on the information gathered during the investigation, police conducted a late-night raid in Krishna Nagar, Indore. The student was recovered during the operation, and Arun Ramesh was arrested.
