Government launches portal for Ayushman Bharat beneficiaries to correct health card data errors

The government has launched a new Data Management Portal to enable Ayushman Bharat scheme beneficiaries to correct errors in their health cards, bringing relief to thousands who were unable to access free treatment due to minor data mismatches. The portal allows amendments to all details except the primary beneficiary's name, including father's name, date of birth, gender, address, and mobile number.

Chief Medical Officer Dr. Sanjay Kumar explained that the Ayushman card issuance system requires 80 percent matching between portal data and Aadhaar or ration card details. Previously, even minor discrepancies in father's name, age, or address prevented eligible beneficiaries from receiving cards despite being qualified for the scheme. The new portal resolves these technical inconsistencies, enabling faster card generation for those who were left out earlier.

In Bahraich district alone, over 10.65 lakh beneficiaries have already received Ayushman cards under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana. Eligible individuals seeking corrections must visit the nearest Community Health Centre, district hospital, or the Ayushman help desk at the Chief Medical Officer's office. While changing the original beneficiary's name remains prohibited for security reasons, all other details can be updated according to Aadhaar records.

District Health Education and Information Officer Brijesh Singh advised cardholders to bring essential documents including Aadhaar card, ration card, and Aadhaar-linked mobile number to the nearest health centre. Trained operators will upload the details on the portal and complete the amendment process.

Chief Development Officer Sunil Kumar Dhanwanta emphasized that the government's objective is to provide free treatment up to five lakh rupees to every eligible person. He has instructed the health department to disseminate information about this facility across villages to ensure no eligible individual is deprived of treatment due to technical errors. The initiative marks a significant step toward making healthcare accessible to all qualified beneficiaries under the flagship scheme.
