Ghaziabad DM Hears Grievances, Assures Disabled Woman Welfare Cards, Housing

On 22/09/2026, Ghaziabad District Magistrate Shri Ravindra Kumar Mondar held a public hearing in his office room at the Collectorate and heard complaints and problems brought by people from different parts of the district.

The District Magistrate listened to the issues of the general public with seriousness and sensitivity. During the public hearing, a large number of citizens placed written applications before him regarding their problems and sought early disposal of their cases.

The complaints received during the hearing included matters related to illegal occupation of land and property, revenue disputes, land-related fraud and illegal encroachment. People also submitted requests linked to public facilities, pension, ration card, Ayushman card and benefits under schemes connected with different departments.

After hearing each complainant carefully, the District Magistrate directed the concerned officers to examine the received cases as per rules. He instructed them to ensure quality, effective and quick disposal within the prescribed time limit. He also directed that eligible people should be given maximum benefit under government schemes.

The District Magistrate also issued instructions to concerned officers through video conferencing. He asked them to provide information to the general public about various beneficial and public welfare schemes being run by the government through public awareness campaigns.

He said that if an eligible person applies to receive the benefit of one scheme, the concerned officer should also check whether that person is eligible for other ongoing schemes. If the person is found eligible, the officer should provide information about those other schemes as well and ensure that the person gets their benefit.

During the public hearing, a disabled woman, Smt. Vimla Chauhan, wife of Shri Sushil Kumar, resident of Kalka Garhi, Ghaziabad, informed the District Magistrate about problems related to the maintenance of herself and her family, and also about housing.

On her request, the District Magistrate asked the woman about her disability pension. She told him that she was receiving disability pension.

After this, the District Magistrate directed the concerned officers to prepare an Antyodaya card for Smt. Vimla. He also instructed that her Ayushman card should be made. Taking her eligibility into account, he further directed that arrangements should also be made to provide her housing.

The public hearing focused on resolving complaints in a time-bound and proper manner, while also linking eligible applicants with welfare schemes for which they may qualify. The District Magistrate’s instructions made it clear that departments must not limit their action only to the specific scheme for which a person has applied, but must also check eligibility for other schemes and help the applicant receive those benefits.
