FIR Filed Against Bulandshahr Police Officers for Extortion Allegations

An FIR has been registered against several police officers in Bulandshahr, Uttar Pradesh, following allegations of extortion and misconduct. The action comes after orders from DIG Kalpana Nidhi Nathani, who directed an inquiry into the serious accusations leveled against police personnel from Sikandrabad police station.

The complainant, Salman, accused the officers of illegal detention, physical assault, and extorting ₹6 lakh. According to Salman, he was forcibly taken from a toll plaza to the police station, where he was threatened with being implicated in a false case unless he paid the demanded amount. The complaint specifically names former station in-charge Neeraj Malik, sub-inspector Arun Kumar, constable Yogesh, and four other officers.

Salman has also requested the investigation to include CCTV footage from both the toll plaza and the police station as key evidence to substantiate his claims. The footage is expected to play a crucial role in determining the sequence of events and verifying the allegations.

Following the registration of the FIR, the case has now entered the investigation phase. This development has raised serious concerns about police accountability and misuse of power within the force. The DIG’s swift action in ordering the probe has been seen as a step toward ensuring justice and maintaining public trust in law enforcement.
