Employee arrested for stealing 100 grams of gold and Rs 50,000 from shop

A man has been arrested in Gonda district for allegedly embezzling approximately 100 grams of gold and Rs 50,000 in cash from his employer's shop. The accused, Vitthal Babu Singhade, was apprehended by police from his residence in Gavade Mala Yelavi village in Sangli district, Maharashtra, after he fled with the valuables.

The complaint was filed by Ajay Maratha alias Aabaso, son of Sayaji Jagdale, a resident originally from Satara, Maharashtra, who runs a shop in Dhanepur area of Gonda. Singhade was employed at the shop when he allegedly committed the embezzlement and absconded with the gold and cash. Following the complaint, a police team was formed specifically to track down the wanted accused and recover the embezzled property.

The police team conducted raids at multiple suspected locations before finally tracing Singhade to his hometown in Tasgaon police station area of Sangli district in Maharashtra. Upon his arrest, Singhade was brought back to Gonda for further investigation into the embezzlement case.

During interrogation, the accused led police to the recovery of significant evidence. Based on his information, officers recovered Rs 5,44,000 in cash and four small pieces of yellow metal believed to be gold. The recovered amount substantially exceeds the initially reported stolen cash, suggesting the accused may have been involved in other illegal activities or had additional undeclared assets.

Police are now investigating whether the recovered items are directly linked to the embezzlement at the Dhanepur shop or if they represent proceeds from other potential crimes. Further legal proceedings against Singhade are currently underway as authorities work to establish the complete scope of the embezzlement case.
