Eleven Kanpur devotees cycle to Vaishno Devi in annual spiritual journey

Eleven devotees from Mardanpur in Kanpur embarked on the 16th bicycle pilgrimage to Vaishno Devi shrine organised by Maa Durga Jankalyan Samiti, Mardanpur, marking a unique mode of travel for the annual spiritual journey. The expedition is being undertaken under the slogan "Chalo bulawa aaya hai, Mata ne bulaya hai" and "Maa ki nagariya, chale cycle sawariya".

The pilgrimage route covers the distance from Mardanpur in Kanpur to Katra in Jammu entirely by bicycle. The journey will take the devotees through several major temples including Mansa Mata, Chandi Mata, Naina Mata, Chintpurni Mata, Jwala Mata, Kangra Mata, and finally culminate at the Vaishno Devi shrine in Katra.

A distinctive feature of this year's pilgrimage is that all 11 participating devotees have been presented with 11 bicycles as gifts given with affection. The bicycles were donated as an offering by Mata Ji Srimati Ramkali and through the courtesy of former Area Panchayat Member Mardanpur Guddu Yadav.

The successful organisation of the pilgrimage has been made possible through the efforts of the entire committee including Lakhan Lal, Anoop Sahu, Shriram Sahu, Sanjay Sahu, Rajendra Sahu, Ram Raj Sahu, Jitendra Sahu, Luv Kush Yadav, Anubhav Yadav, Sachin Katheriya and Abhishek Tiwari.

Committee members informed that this pilgrimage has been organised continuously for 16 years and there is immense enthusiasm among the devotees of Mata for this journey.
