Eggs Thrown at TMC Leaders: Soumitra Banerjee Attacked, Mandira Ghen

In West Bengal, attacks involving eggs against TMC leaders are reportedly on the rise. On Tuesday, Soumitra Banerjee, a close associate of CM Mamata Banerjee, faced an egg attack while being escorted by police to Raniganj Court. Some individuals also physically assaulted him before the police ensured his safe arrival at the court. Banerjee had been arrested following a complaint by BJP leader Ravi Keshari, accusing him of attacking BJP workers.

Separately, a video surfaced showing Mandira Ghen, the sarpanch of Dhanurhat Gram Panchayat, apologizing and crying outside her home. Protesters gathered there, shouting slogans, and she was seen kneeling and pleading for forgiveness. The protests were reportedly linked to a controversy involving the Dhanurhat Panchayat.

On Monday, TMC spokesperson and MLA Kunal Ghosh was also targeted with eggs while speaking to the media outside Mamata Banerjee's residence. Ghosh alleged that BJP workers were responsible for the attack and claimed he narrowly avoided injury to his eye. He criticized the police for not taking action despite being present at the scene. Following his complaint, two individuals were arrested.
