District Magistrate seeks media help to publicise Basic Education Department schemes

District Magistrate Annapurna Garg chaired a meeting with print and electronic media representatives at the Collectorate auditorium in Shravasti district to discuss the progress and achievements of developmental schemes run by the Basic Education Department and to seek their cooperation in publicising these initiatives widely.

The meeting witnessed detailed discussions on the progress of various schemes operated by the Basic Education Department, their achievements, and efforts to ensure that benefits reach eligible beneficiaries. The District Magistrate emphasised that the objective of the Basic Education Department's schemes would be considered successful only when their benefits reach every child in a transparent and time-bound manner.

Addressing the media representatives, Garg expressed her expectation that they would cooperate in publicising and broadcasting the schemes, innovations, and excellent work being carried out by the Basic Education Department in public interest on a wide scale. She stressed the need for effective publicity and dissemination of the department's schemes and initiatives.

During the meeting, information about key schemes operated by the Basic Education Department was shared with the media representatives. The District Magistrate directed the District Basic Education Officer to provide factual information about the progress and achievements of the schemes to the media and to ensure regular publicity and dissemination of information related to public welfare.

Garg informed that under Operation Kayakalp, basic facilities are being strengthened in 982 schools across the district. Libraries have been established in 161 gram panchayats, while under the Sampurnata Abhiyan, 167 girls' toilets have been constructed. Toilets for differently-abled children have been completed in 715 schools, while construction is proposed in 267 schools. Furniture has been provided to children in 277 schools, while 880 schools are saturated with furniture. Boundary wall construction has been completed in 860 schools. Besides this, hundred percent saturation has been achieved in blackboards, painting and whitewashing, ramps, electrical equipment and submersible pumps. In addition, various other achievements were also explained in detail.

On this occasion, media representatives also presented their suggestions related to schemes operating in the district and raised issues of public concern before the District Magistrate. The District Magistrate assured necessary action on all the suggestions received.

District Basic Education Officer Aakanksha Rawat gave a presentation on the schemes of the Basic Education Department on this occasion and provided detailed information about the implementation of the schemes.

The meeting was attended by the district coordinator and other employees of the Education Department, along with representatives from various newspapers, news channels and other media organisations of the district.
