DIG Yamuna Prasad reviews security at Baneshwar Mahadev Temple during Shravan

DIG Kanpur Range Yamuna Prasad conducted a comprehensive security review at the historic Baneshwar Mahadev Temple in Banipara, Kanpur Dehat district, on the auspicious occasion of Shravan Somwar on August 24, 2026. The senior officer personally visited the temple located in Rura police station area to ensure the safety of devotees and smooth darshan arrangements during the holy Monday dedicated to Lord Shiva.

During his visit, DIG Prasad performed puja and jalabhishek at the temple premises following traditional rituals and prayed for peace and prosperity in the region. He then carried out a detailed inspection of the entire temple complex, reviewing critical aspects of crowd management including entry and exit points for devotees, barricading arrangements, traffic diversion plans, and deployment of police personnel.

Addressing the officers and constables on duty, DIG Yamuna Prasad issued strict instructions emphasizing the need for sensitive and vigilant behavior toward devotees. He stressed that special attention must be given to crowd management to prevent any stampede or chaos. The senior officer directed the police force to ensure quick and effective response mechanisms are in place to handle any emergency situation that might arise during the heavy influx of devotees.

Following the temple inspection, DIG Prasad held a press conference at Rura police station premises where he briefed journalists about the elaborate security arrangements implemented by the police administration for Shravan Somwar. He detailed the deployment of CCTV surveillance cameras for monitoring and explained the traffic management measures put in place.

Kanpur Dehat Superintendent of Police Shraddha Narendra Pandey, Circle Officer Akbarpur Sanjay Kumar Singh, and other senior police officers and staff were present during the visit and review meeting.
