Devotees immerse Krishna idols in Rapti river after Janmashtami celebrations in Shravasti

Devotees in Shravasti's Patna Jamuanha area took out a grand procession after the Sri Krishna Janmashtami celebrations and immersed idols of Lord Krishna in the Rapti river with traditional rituals.

The procession started from Patna Birganj town and Shikari Chowraha on Thursday. Devotees danced to DJ music and the beats of drums and cymbals while raising slogans in praise of Lord Krishna. The entire area was filled with devotion as the procession passed through.

The procession made its way from Birganj and Shikari Chowraha to Malhipur main crossing. Local residents and traders welcomed the procession by showering flowers on the devotees.

After this, the devotees reached the Madhavapur bridge over the Rapti river with musical bands. Following Vedic chanting and worship rituals, the idol of Lord Sri Krishna was immersed in the river in accordance with traditional religious customs.

Malhipur police station personnel remained deployed throughout the procession to ensure security arrangements. A large number of women, men and children were present at the event, who bid farewell to Lord Sri Krishna.
