On 23/09/2026 in Ghaziabad, District Magistrate Shri Ravindra Kumar Mondar held a public hearing in his office chamber at the Collectorate and listened to the problems and complaints of people who had come from different areas of the district with seriousness and sensitivity.
During the public hearing, a large number of citizens submitted applications related to their problems before the District Magistrate and sought early disposal of their matters. The complaints received included illegal occupation of land and property, property disputes, land-related fraud and illegal encroachment. People also requested help in getting benefits under schemes related to public facilities, pension, ration card, Ayushman card and various departments.
The District Magistrate heard each complainant carefully and directed the concerned officers to examine the cases received as per rules. He asked them to ensure quality, effective and quick disposal within the prescribed time limit. He also directed that eligible people should be given the maximum possible benefit under government schemes.
A large number of persons with disabilities also reached the public hearing and placed their problem before the District Magistrate. They said, “DM sir, you have provided us a means of employment to live with dignity, but policemen harass us every day and threaten to remove our kiosk/spot. This is adversely affecting our right to live with dignity. Therefore, we request you to help us and provide us protection.”
Taking immediate note of the problem raised by the persons with disabilities, the District Magistrate spoke to the concerned station house officers on the spot. He directed them that persons with disabilities should not be harassed unnecessarily and that no unnecessary obstruction should be created in their employment.
The District Magistrate also directed his staff to send necessary instruction letters on his behalf to all police stations, police outposts and concerned departments in the district. The purpose of these instructions, he said, was to ensure that persons with disabilities who are doing their work with complete honesty and dedication are not harassed in any way without reason. He also directed that cooperation should be ensured for their dignified livelihood and employment.
The District Magistrate further instructed the concerned officers through video conferencing and telephone to provide the general public with information about various beneficial and public welfare schemes being run by the government through public awareness.
He said that if an eligible person applies to receive the benefit of one scheme, the concerned officer should also ensure whether that person is eligible for other ongoing schemes or not. If the person is found eligible, the officer should inform the person about the other schemes as well and ensure that the benefits of those schemes are also provided.
The public hearing also underlined the need for coordinated action by different departments so that complaints linked to land, property, encroachment, public facilities and welfare benefits are examined properly and disposed of within the set time frame. The District Magistrate’s directions focused on both immediate relief in individual cases and better access to government schemes for eligible people.
ADM L/A, ADM City, ADM E, the City Magistrate and other officers were present during the public hearing.
