Congress Questions Alleged Teacher Deployment for PM’s Hathras Live Telecast

Congress has attacked the BJP government over the Prime Minister’s live telecast programme in Hathras, with city president Yogesh Kumar Oke questioning the deployment of teachers for the event. He alleged that people were troubled by issues such as inflation, unemployment, corruption and crime, and that public confidence in the government had consequently declined.
Yogesh Kumar Oke said that a Prime Minister’s live telecast was organised on 7 October at the Dauji Maharaj pandal under the ‘विकसित भारत का संकल्प’ programme. According to him, the expected number of ordinary people did not attend the event. He claimed that the organisers then issued directions for teachers to be called to the programme.
The Congress city president claimed that the Basic Education Officer, Hathras, had issued instructions to all the Block Education Officers. The instructions allegedly asked them to ensure the participation of 100 teachers each from the Hathras, Mursan and Sasni development blocks, along with 50 teachers from the Hathras urban area.
Yogesh Kumar Oke questioned the basis of the alleged instructions. He asked at what level the order had been issued if teachers were called away from their teaching duties to participate in the live telecast of a political programme. He alleged that disrupting the education system to gather a crowd for the event was not appropriate.
He said the Congress would soon seek information from the Basic Education Officer through the Right to Information Act. The party would ask on whose instructions the order to remove teachers from their teaching work and send them to the programme was issued, and under which rule the order was issued.
Yogesh Kumar Oke also raised questions over the policies of the central government, citing unemployment, inflation, corruption and crimes against women. He linked these issues to his criticism of the government and said they were among the concerns troubling the public. The allegations regarding the teachers’ deployment and the instructions issued for their participation were made by the Congress city president.
