Cocktail 2 earns Rs 3 crore in advance bookings ahead of release

The much-anticipated Bollywood romantic drama Cocktail 2, starring Shahid Kapoor, Kriti Sanon, and Rashmika Mandanna, has hit theatres today amid high expectations from fans and industry insiders. The film, directed by Homi Adajania, has generated significant buzz due to its star-studded cast, music, and connection to the beloved 2012 film Cocktail, which featured Saif Ali Khan, Deepika Padukone, and Diana Penty.

Trade analyst Himesh Mankad expressed optimism about the film's prospects, noting that over 30,000 tickets had already been sold in national chains ahead of the release. He predicted a strong opening for the film, stating that a double-digit start at the box office seems likely.

Advance bookings for Cocktail 2 have been robust, with the film selling 85,868 tickets across 9,427 shows nationwide, generating an advance booking gross of Rs 3.01 crore. When block bookings are included, the total advance booking gross rises to an impressive Rs 5.61 crore, underscoring growing audience interest.

The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has cleared the film without any visual cuts, ensuring that all romantic and intimate scenes remain intact. This decision allows the filmmakers to present the movie in its intended form.

As the spiritual sequel to the original Cocktail, which continues to be cherished by audiences 14 years after its release, Cocktail 2 faces both excitement and scrutiny. Fans and trade analysts alike are closely watching its box office performance and audience reception.
