Anger has erupted among advocates at the tehsil premises in Bulandshahr district over alleged corruption and the alleged poor behaviour of the tehsildar. According to a report by Kuldeep Sharma, lawyers raised serious allegations against the tehsildar at an emergency meeting of the Bar Association. They accused the tehsildar of behaving indecently with advocates and of irregularities in the functioning of the office.
Angered by the matter, the advocates observed a one-day symbolic strike in all the courts of the tehsil as a mark of protest. Judicial work remained stalled because of the strike. During the protest, the lawyers gathered together at the tehsil premises, raised loud slogans and staged a strong demonstration.
The advocates said that the functioning of the tehsil has been continuously affected and that the general public and lawyers are facing difficulties. They said the situation was causing problems for both those coming to the tehsil and the advocates involved in the work there.
The Bar Association has demanded that the administration order an impartial inquiry into the entire matter and take appropriate action. The lawyers have warned that if the problems are not resolved soon, they will consider registering a stronger protest in the future. A large number of advocates were present during the demonstration.
