Brett Lee praises R Madhavan as 'top bloke' after Dubai golf outing
Brett Lee calls R Madhavan a 'top bloke' after their Dubai golf outing, sharing photos and a humorous exchange that fans loved.
Former Australian cricketer Brett Lee and Indian actor R Madhavan recently bonded over a round of golf in Dubai, creating a buzz among fans online. Lee shared photos from their outing on Instagram, praising Madhavan for his personality and golfing skills. “Great to finally get a round in with @actormaddy. One of the most respected actors going around, and turns out a genuinely top bloke off screen too. Good company, decent swing, looking forward to the next one mate,” Lee wrote in his post.
Madhavan quickly responded to Lee’s kind words, returning the compliment with humor. “The feeling is so very mutual Chief. Except your swing is a subject of great envy. Until next time,” he commented, accompanied by a smiley emoticon. Their friendly exchange resonated with fans, and the photos went viral on social media, with many appreciating the camaraderie between the two stars.
The outing aligns with Madhavan’s well-known passion for golf. The actor has often credited the sport for its transformative impact on his life and career. In a previous interview, he described golf as instrumental in helping him stay grounded and focused, saying, “It literally saved my career. It’s also been instrumental in making me get in touch with myself to understand who I really am.” He added that the sport allows him to spend hours constructively while engaging in something he deeply loves.
Madhavan also sees parallels between golf and acting, emphasizing how both demand intense focus and the ability to block out distractions. He likened the precision required for a perfect golf shot to the concentration needed to deliver an authentic performance on camera. “To eliminate all these distractions, to be able to dive deep within yourself and touch that one emotion that you want to show on the face… is exactly akin to hitting a proper, pure golf shot,” he explained.
On the professional front, Madhavan was last seen in Aditya Dhar’s blockbuster Dhurandhar: The Revenge. His upcoming projects include a biopic on inventor and engineer GD Naidu, where he plays the titular role, and a Netflix series titled Legacy.
As for Brett Lee, his connection with India extends beyond cricket. The celebrated fast bowler has collaborated with legendary singer Asha Bhosle on the song “Haan Main Tumhara Hoon” and made his acting debut in the 2015 romantic comedy UnIndian, directed by Anupam Sharma.
Their Dubai golf outing not only showcased their sporting skills but also highlighted the mutual respect and friendship between the two stars, earning admiration from fans across the globe.
