BJP Leaders Raise Objections Over Proposed Bhopal Master Plan, Delimitation

Disagreement within the Bharatiya Janata Party has emerged over the proposed draft of Bhopal’s master plan, with party leaders raising objections during a core group meeting held in the presence of the BJP’s state organisation general secretary. The issue of delimitation of Assembly constituencies was also discussed at the meeting.

The leaders placed their views on both subjects and drew attention to what they described as shortcomings in the proposed master plan and the delimitation process. The discussion brought local concerns related to Bhopal’s development plan and Assembly constituencies into the focus of the party’s organisational meeting.

Dhruvanarayan raised questions over the draft of Bhopal’s master plan. He said that the provisions in the draft had led to dissatisfaction among the general public and traders. Describing the issue as serious, he said there was a need to consider the concerns of the public and the business community.

The master plan affects the city’s development, construction activities and commercial areas. Because of this, the objections being raised over its draft are being considered important. The concerns raised in the meeting indicate that the proposed provisions have become a subject of discussion within the BJP as well.

The issue of delimitation of Assembly seats also came up during the core group meeting. BJP leader Alok drew attention to shortcomings connected with the delimitation process and presented his views on the matter.

Delimitation is considered important from a political and electoral point of view. The discussion on this issue during the meeting was therefore also considered significant. Leaders shared their views on the problems linked to the process, along with raising objections over the Bhopal master plan.
