Bahujan Party national president Manik Lal Nagar, who arrived in Chandausi, strongly criticised what he described as the prevailing situation in the country. He said the country was currently facing serious issues including instability, anarchy, oppression of women, donation theft and vote theft.

Nagar said that whenever any individual, organisation or opposition group wanted to hold a sit-in, protest or movement over these issues, government agencies were making every possible effort to crush it. According to him, protesters were being put in jail.

He said the situation appeared to be like an undeclared Emergency in the country. Nagar added that young people were angry and that if the youth decided to bring about a change in power, the country would witness not only a change of government but also a change in the system.

During his visit to Chandausi, Manik Lal Nagar held discussions with local office-bearers about the strategy for the 2027 Assembly election. He instructed the party organisation to strengthen its structure at the booth level.

Nagar also alleged that “donation thieves” were enjoying themselves in the BJP. He said that over issues including the removal of the Chief Election Commissioner, the party had submitted memoranda at district headquarters across the country from 12 October to 14 October, demanding that the Chief Election Commissioner be removed.

He said that if the government did not resolve the party’s demands, a major sit-in and protest would be held in Lucknow in December. He said the party’s call would be: “भाजपा हटाओ, निजीकरण मिटाओ, खुशहाली लाओ, प्रदेश बचाओ”: remove the BJP, end privatisation, bring prosperity and save the state.

The national president said the party’s main demand was the immediate dismissal of Chief Election Commissioner Shri Gyanesh Kumar, whom he described as a vote thief.

He also demanded justice for the victim family of Hathras’ Bulgadhi case. Nagar said the case should be reviewed again and the accused should be sentenced to death. He further demanded that, in accordance with the order of the High Court, Lucknow Bench, compensation and a house in Noida should be provided to the victim family.

Among the party’s other demands, he called for an end to privatisation and the filling of vacant posts in government departments. He said the demands of the Mandal Commission should be implemented for the Lok Sabha and the Assembly as well.

The party also demanded that the state be divided into four parts, Purvanchal, Awadh, Bundelkhand and western Uttar Pradesh, and made into separate states. Other demands included conducting elections through ballot papers, restoring the old pension scheme and making permanent the contractual sanitation workers working in the state’s local bodies since 2006.

The report was filed by Rajat Malhotra.
