Bahraich police in Uttar Pradesh arrested a 31-year-old man and seized 583 grams of charas along with a motorcycle during a joint operation with the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) near the India-Nepal border on August 19, 2026. The accused has been identified as Shahrukh Khan alias Lallu, son of Salim Khan, a resident of Medhkiya Ponda village in the Motipur police station area of Bahraich district.

The operation was conducted under the supervision of Superintendent of Police Vishwajit Srivastava and led by Inspector-in-Charge Brahma Gond of Motipur police station. A joint team of local police and SSB personnel was conducting a checking drive in the border region as part of an ongoing crackdown on drug trafficking and related criminal activities. During the drive, the team intercepted a suspicious person near Balaigaon bridge in the Motipur jurisdiction and conducted a search.

Upon inspection, 583 grams of charas and a Platina motorcycle were recovered from the suspect's possession. During interrogation, he was identified as Shahrukh Khan. Following his arrest, police registered a case under sections 8 and 20 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act at Motipur police station, recorded as FIR number 362/2026.

The operation was supervised by Additional Superintendent of Police (Rural) Durga Prasad Tiwari and Circle Officer Mihinpurwa Pahup Singh. The police team from Motipur station included Inspector Brahma Gond, Sub-Inspector Ajesh Kumar, Head Constables Gattu Pandey and Dayanand Singh, and Constables Anurag Singh, Prem Prakash, and Suraj Kumar. The SSB contingent from the 59th Battalion at Balaigaon comprised Assistant Sub-Inspectors Jagdamba Prasad and Sanjeev Kumar, along with Constables Jitendra Singh, Misal Satish, and N Meghanadham. The accused was produced before the Bahraich court for further legal proceedings.
