Ayodhya Ram Temple Donor Siyaram Umarvaish Given Guard of Honour in Pratapgarh

Siyaram Umarvaish, who donated 1 crore rupees for the construction of the Shri Ram temple in Ayodhya, was given a final farewell with a guard of honour in Pratapgarh on Saturday. A large number of people gathered in the district to pay their last respects to the former district Sanghchalak of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS).

His death has cast a pall of grief over the district. Umarvaish had remained active in social activities, and many people reached his residence to have a last glimpse of him. His final farewell was attended by former Members of Parliament, legislators, RSS functionaries and police personnel.

The final procession began from his residence on Saturday morning. The bier, decorated with flowers, was carried forward as people came ahead to shoulder it. At several places along the route, people offered flowers and paid tribute to him.

A large crowd joined the procession. The gathering reflected the respect and emotional connection people had with Umarvaish. People bid him farewell with moist eyes as the procession moved through the area.

Umarvaish had been associated with the RSS for a long time and had played an active role in social activities. He had donated 1 crore rupees for the construction of the Shri Ram temple in Ayodhya. Through this contribution, he had demonstrated his faith and dedication.

His death is being considered a major loss for the RSS family and the social sector. The large turnout for his last rites also reflected the place he held among people in the district.

Former Member of Parliament Sangam Lal Gupta, Sadar MLA Rajendra Maurya and former MLA Brijesh Saurabh reached his residence and offered their tributes.

During the final procession, Nagar Kotwal Subhash Kumar Yadav, outpost in-charge Bhagwa Ramesh Tiwari and several police personnel were present. Umarvaish was given a final farewell with a guard of honour, after which people saw him off with tears in their eyes.
