Asaduddin Owaisi Addresses AIMIM Meeting In UP’s Shravasti, No Candidate Named

AIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi addressed a large public meeting in Rajapur Rani of the Bhinga assembly constituency in Uttar Pradesh’s Shravasti later in the evening today, creating political activity in the area. However, no formal announcement was made about the name of a candidate for the Bhinga seat.

During the meeting, Owaisi targeted not only the BJP but also the SP and Congress. He said Muslims and weaker sections should not remain limited to vote-bank politics. Instead, he said, they should strengthen their own political leadership and representation.

Owaisi also hit back at the SP and Congress over their description of AIMIM as 'वोटकटवा'. He questioned how successful the two parties had been in stopping the BJP when AIMIM was not in the contest.

The AIMIM chief also raised issues related to flooding, health services and development in Shravasti. He accused the government of ignoring the Terai region. Through these remarks, the concerns related to the area became a key part of his address at the public meeting.

The bigger question now is whether AIMIM’s active presence in Shravasti will affect the political calculations of the SP and Congress in the 2027 election.

For now, the party has not announced a candidate from Bhinga. However, through Owaisi’s public meeting, AIMIM has clearly marked its political presence in Shravasti. The meeting has brought the party’s activities in the district into focus, even though the candidate for the Bhinga seat has not yet been declared.
