Apni Party spokesperson Ishrat Bhat has strongly condemned the reported attack on a Kashmir-bound passenger bus in Haryana, calling the targeting of Kashmiri passengers unacceptable. She said such incidents are deeply disturbing and cannot be allowed to become the new normal.
Bhat said the reported incident raises serious concerns about the safety, dignity and security of ordinary citizens travelling across the country. “The reported stone-pelting and damage to a passenger bus carrying people from Jammu and Kashmir is not merely an attack on a vehicle; it is an attack on the sense of security and dignity of ordinary citizens travelling across the country. No Kashmiri should be made to feel unsafe simply because of the registration number of their vehicle or their place of origin,” Bhat said.
She urged the Haryana authorities to identify and arrest all those involved in the reported attack. Bhat also called for a transparent, time-bound investigation so that the facts of the incident can be established and action can be taken under the law.
“The law must act firmly against anyone trying to create fear, hostility or discrimination against Kashmiris,” she said.
Bhat also appealed to people to maintain peace. She said isolated incidents should not be allowed to create further mistrust between communities, stressing the need to prevent such developments from widening divisions.
“Jammu and Kashmir is an integral part of India, and its people have every right to travel, work and live anywhere in the country with dignity, security and respect. We expect the concerned authorities to ensure that this right is protected,” she added.
