Anti-Plastic Gang Launches Plastic-Free School Campaign, Hundreds Of Children Join

In Pratapgarh, the Anti Plastic Gang, run by Paryavaran Sena, launched a Plastic Free School campaign under the Swachhata Hi Seva campaign and held an anti-plastic dialogue to make students and others aware of the dangers of single-use plastic.

The programme was organised at Uchch Prathamik Vidyalaya Vishwanathganj Pratham with the support of Durgavati Foundation Mumbai. During the event, the Anti Plastic Gang spoke to the children and all those present about the need to act against single-use plastic.

Hundreds of children joined the Anti Plastic Gang for environmental protection. The students extended their support to the campaign against plastic and took a pledge to eliminate single-use plastic for the protection of the environment.

Speaking to schoolchildren during the anti-plastic dialogue, Paryavaran Sena and Anti Plastic Gang chief Ajay Krantikari urged them to begin the fight against single-use plastic from their own homes. He asked the children to help make their village and school plastic-free.

Ajay Krantikari said plastic has become a danger to both health and the environment. He said that because of the excessive use of plastic, the human body is becoming vulnerable to cancer and many other life-threatening diseases, and the temperature of the earth is rising.

He also motivated everyone present to work for a plastic-free school. He stressed the use of cloth and paper bags in place of single-use plastic. He appealed to all people to collect the plastic lying in their homes and cooperate in recycling it.

Giving information about the “Plastic ke Badle Jhola” scheme, he said that people should collect ten plastic items and deposit them in the school. In exchange, they would receive one cloth bag as an alternative.

The campaign focused on making students active participants in the effort to reduce plastic use. Through the dialogue, the Anti Plastic Gang encouraged children to take the message from the school to their homes and surroundings.

Headmistress Manju Srivastava, Sunita Singh, Sangeeta Devi, Reshma Devi, Ayush Kumar and Dinesh Tiwari, along with others, were present on the occasion.
