Amethi police bust burglary gang targeting locked homes, arrest three

Police in Amethi have busted a burglary gang that was conducting reconnaissance of locked houses before committing thefts, arresting three suspects including a minor under Operation Chakravyuh.

The Gauriganj police achieved a major breakthrough when they apprehended the three burglars who had been targeting unoccupied homes in the area. Police recovered 750 grams of silver, 34 grams of gold, and 18,000 rupees in cash from the possession of the accused. The total value of the recovered jewelry is being estimated at around 5 lakh rupees.

Among those arrested is Vaibhav Tiwari, who already has several cases registered against him. The gang's modus operandi involved carefully surveying closed houses before executing the thefts.

All three accused have been sent to jail and police have begun further proceedings in the case. The Gauriganj police action is expected to curb the incidents of burglary that had been plaguing the region. The operation marks a significant success for local law enforcement in their crackdown on property crimes under the ongoing Operation Chakravyuh initiative.
