Amethi Mahant Threatens Samadhi, Alleges Police Harassment In Attack Case

A mahant in Amethi has sat on a protest, alleging anger over the working style of the Bhale Sultan police in connection with a case involving an attack on the mahant of Baba Garib Das’s ashram.

According to the information available, the mahant alleged that in the case of the attack on him, the police were harassing Baba by citing “peshbandi”. He has said that, after not getting justice, he is going to take samadhi.

Baba has dug a pit himself for the samadhi. He has said he will take samadhi at 12.15 in the afternoon.

After receiving information, a police team reached the spot and is trying to persuade Baba.

Baba has alleged that illegal occupation of the ashram land should be removed. He has also demanded action against people who, he alleges, are cooking meat-based food next to the ashram.

He has further demanded that the registered case be investigated properly and action be taken against the people concerned.

The matter is from Baba Garib Das Ashram under the Bhale Sultan Shaheed Smarak police station area.
