Amethi DM dismisses gram pradhan over Rs 3.22 lakh fund misappropriation case

A district magistrate in Amethi has taken major action against the gram pradhan of Thengha village panchayat, dismissing the official from the post of administrator following allegations of financial irregularities involving public funds.

The DM dismissed the Thengha gram pradhan from the administrator position after receiving a complaint and subsequent inquiry report. The case relates to Thengha gram panchayat in Sangrampur block.

The complaint filed with the DM alleged that interlocking bricks meant for construction went missing. Additionally, the location of the interlocking pathway construction project was changed, and payments were made through a different ID.

Following the complaint to the DM, an inquiry report was submitted. Based on the findings of that investigation, the district magistrate proceeded with disciplinary action.

The gram pradhan faces allegations of misuse of government funds amounting to Rs 3,22,396. Along with the dismissal order, the DM has also issued directions for recovery of Rs 1,61,198.

The action represents a significant administrative crackdown on alleged misappropriation in rural development works in the district.
