Amethi Congress Alleges Administration Has Different Rules For BJP, Opposition
The Amethi administration has been accused of adopting a “dual approach” towards the Congress and the BJP.
The Amethi administration has been accused of adopting a “dual approach” towards the Congress and the BJP. Anil Singh, spokesperson for the District Congress Committee, Amethi, alleged that whenever the Congress party raises the voice of the people through democratic means, the administration deploys police personnel and turns the Congress office into a cantonment.
However, Singh questioned where the administration’s active response disappears when BJP workers come to the gate of the Congress office and stage a protest.
“This is the administration’s dual approach, which is against the spirit of democracy and impartial administration,” Singh said. He questioned whether the law is equal for everyone in Amethi and whether there are separate rules for the ruling party and separate laws for the opposition.
The Congress spokesperson demanded that the district administration work impartially, free from pressure from those in power, and apply the same rules to all political parties.
He said that everyone has the right to protest in a democracy, but the administration’s responsibility must also be equal towards everyone. The Congress party, he added, would oppose this dual approach through democratic means and continue to strongly fight for the rights of the people.
The statement ended with the slogans, “Jai Hind, Jai Constitution!” and was issued by Anil Singh, spokesperson, District Congress Committee, Amethi.
