Aligarh Police Arrest Accused in 10-Tonne Chicken Feed Truck Disappearance
Police have arrested and sent to jail an accused in connection with the disappearance of a truck carrying 10 tonnes of chicken feed worth about nine lakh rupees from Aligarh’s Rorawar police station
Police have arrested and sent to jail an accused in connection with the disappearance of a truck carrying 10 tonnes of chicken feed worth about nine lakh rupees from Aligarh’s Rorawar police station area. The police said the consignment was taken away after a fake number plate was put on the truck.
The missing consignment had been sent from the Ailana factory in Aligarh to Aurangabad (Bihar). During the investigation, the police recovered the truck and 14,500 rupees at the instance of the accused. The police have also added sections related to cheating and other offences during the investigation.
The case relates to SS India Logistic, a company owned by Inam ul Haq, a resident of Hamdard Nagar-A Jamalpur in the Civil Lines police station area. The company works on a contract basis and transports goods from the Ailana factory to the concerned customers.
According to Inam ul Haq, a truck was booked on 29 August through Malik Brothers Transport Company in the Rorawar area. The truck was loaded at the Ailana factory with 200 bags, or around 10 tonnes, of chicken feed. The consignment was to be delivered to Vaishnavi Agrovet in Aurangabad (Bihar).
The value of the chicken feed was stated to be about nine lakh rupees. The complaint alleged that Samir Malik, the proprietor of the transport company, had provided the truck’s registration certificate, PAN card, driving licence and other documents through WhatsApp.
The consignment was supposed to reach the specified address by 1 September. However, it did not arrive within the scheduled time. When Inam ul Haq contacted the transporter, he allegedly began delaying the matter. Even after considerable time had passed, there was no information about either the truck or the consignment.
Following this, a case was registered at Rorawar police station on 8 September on the basis of the complainant’s written complaint. The police then began investigating how the truck and the chicken feed had gone missing.
Rorawar police station in-charge Ravi Chandraval said that the investigation revealed that Anshul, son of Rajesh Kumar and a resident of Thanpur in the Vishungarh police station area of Kannauj district, had taken away the chicken feed after putting a fake number plate on the truck.
The police team arrested Anshul from the Rorawar police station area. The truck and 14,500 rupees were recovered from his possession, according to the police.
The accused was produced before the court on Monday. After the court proceedings, he was sent to jail. The investigation in the case is continuing, with cheating and other sections having been added during the course of the inquiry.
